Starting Over

We're back on this blog! I changed the blog layout (from Our Blogger Templates - seriously, check them out, they're awesome) and I've hidden the old posts. It is time for a fresh start!!
Last Thursday, I lucked into some [amazing] Red Sox tickets. My parents and aunt and I were going to go, but they were forecasting a bit of rain, so my mom and dad gave the tickets to me in the end, so Marek and I, and two of our best behaved friends went to the game. Here we are after the game.
On Saturday, we went skeet and trap shooting with one of our Meetup groups. The woman who runs this group finds the coolest things to do! I had never been shooting before, so was excited to try it. We headed up to Burlington to the Minute Man Sports Club, and got a quick overview on shotgun safety, and then went out and started shooting!

We headed up to Burlington to the Minute Man Sports Club, and got a quick overview on shotgun safety, and then went out and started shooting!I used a 20-gauge shotgun (12-gauge was too big - heck, 20-gauge was too big), and Marek used a 12-gauge. I wasn't able to shoot any "birds" during skeet shooting, which is when the clay pigeons fly from left to right or right to left, but Marek got some. The picture below is from trap shooting, where the clay pigeons fly out straight in front of you. I shot about 3 or 4 this way.
The worst part about shooting is the recoil or kickback. We shot about 3 to 5 shots at a time, and after even the first shot, I could really feel it. I shot 26 shots total, and here's a picture of a wicked bruise coming in, just 8 hours after shooting was over. [Ignore the dirty kitchen!] Ouch!
