Jenn & Marek: Scenes from the weekend (August 24-26, 2012)

It's been three months (+7 days) since the last post. Lots to catch up on, and every weekend I tell myself I'm going to work on the recaps of our cross-country road trip, but I guess they can wait a little longer.

Here are some pictures from the weekend. We were apart most of Saturday while Marek was out hiking, but otherwise it was a nice, relaxing weekend. I got all of my housework done on Saturday which meant Sunday was a lazy day.

I came home to peaches on the kitchen table. I'm neutral when it comes to peaches (someone else devoured all of these in about 10 minutes though), but I thought it made for a pretty picture and made the kitchen feel a bit more homey.

On Fridays, I'm done with work by 2PM Pacific at the latest, which is really great. Sometimes that means we head over to Seattle around 3 PM, in an attempt to beat the traffic (it usually works!), and lately Fridays have meant a stop at Serious Pie and then a little shopping (please don't ask me where). Serious Pie has really delicious pizza and equally delicious root beer. Friday afternoons they have a happy hour, which we are able to take advantage of because of our work schedules.

On this particular trip to Seattle, we stopped in at Pacific Place (I think?) - which is as close to a real mall as I've seen so far. I've recently discovered this store called Francesca's Closet (stumbled upon it in Indianapolis in July), and they had one at this mall too! This little guy was calling to me from the display, so I asked Marek if he needed a purple hippo, and he nicely said he did, so he came home with us. We decided to name him Five. Five has already made himself at home in the bed!
