Today kicks off a month of blogging (hopefully)!

The holidays were quite busy for Marek and me.  We did our usual whirlwind family marathon tour, visiting 4 places in just 2 days.  We were lucky enough to see a lot of family, and had a really nice time with almost everyone.  After the holiday, Marek headed back to New York, and I spent a couple days at home with my family.  I got to practice my snow shoveling skills as Massachusetts was hit with a pretty big snowstorm.  It snowed for almost an entire day!  But that didn't stop us from making a trip to Red Robin, yum!!

For New Year's, a couple of our friends came down to visit us.  We went to the American Museum of Natural History and rang in the New Year playing Wii and having some drinks at our apartment.

I'll post some related pictures another day!

I'm not someone who gets really excited about the New Year, nor do I get super reflective about the past year.  2010 was a good year - we moved, I got a new job, I made new friends, I became closer with existing friends, and I became really close with a whole bunch of my family.  I ran two half marathons, lost 10 pounds, and learned how to live in a 400 square foot (give or take) apartment.

I don't really buy into the whole New Year's resolutions thing.  Now's as good a time as any to make a change in your life - why do we need something as immaterial as a +1 on the end of the year to spur us into action?  Looking forward to 2011, I'd like to continue running, start cross training, watch even less TV, swear less, read more, and eat better.  I'd like to save more money, be less judgmental (HA!), downsize my possessions even more (especially my clothes), and spend quality time with my family and friends.  Nothing lofty or earth shattering, and mostly subjective.

So here's to a great year...as my Dad said to me this morning, Hope it's the best!
